Paul goes on to tell us to seek peace and mutual edification (or encouragement). He also admonishes us to concern ourselves with our own actions that might be harming our brother or sister.
How can my freedom to eat or drink whatever I want bring stumbling to my brother? Can you think of a practical example?
I'm reminded of Paul's earlier words about love being the full summation of the law. As I act in and out of love, I am concerned with my brothers and sisters' well-being. I am concerned with pleasing the Lord in my actions and answering to His Spirit for my decisions.
Spend time asking the Holy Spirit to search your heart and reveal to you any areas where you judge instead of love.
