Awestruck: 30 Days of Wonder in the BibleSample

Paul begged God to take away his "thorn in the flesh." God's answer wasn't to remove the struggle but to give something better—grace. And not just enough grace to scrape by.
Grace turns weakness into the setting for God’s strength.
I think about this when I'm struggling with my limitations. The health challenges that slow me down, the moments when I feel overwhelmed as a mom, the times when ministry needs feel too big. My first instinct is to ask God to take it all away. But what if He wants to do something even better? What if He wants to show His strength right there in my weakness?
This theme runs all through Scripture:
- Moses stuttered.
- David was the discounted youngest son.
- Gideon felt too small.
None of them impressed anyone by the world's standards. Yet those cracks became the openings where God's power showed up.
And here's the wonder: you don't have to fix yourself first. You don't have to cover up your weakness to be useful to God. Bring it with you. Right there, He shows Himself strong.
Reflect:
How does God's strength in weakness stir your awe of Him?
Tomorrow we'll discover the most radical kind of love—the kind that moves first, before you even know you need it.
