Devotional:
Jesus spoke these words after His disciples couldn’t cast a demon out of a boy. They asked Him why they failed, and He pointed them back to faith—not their technique or effort. He used the mustard seed as an illustration, one of the smallest seeds in the ancient world, to show that it’s not the size of your faith that matters, but the size of your God.

This wasn’t about performing miracles for show; it was about trusting God’s power over any obstacle. In Jewish culture, a “mountain” often symbolized something immovable or impossible. Jesus was saying that even the tiniest trust in Him can move what looks unmovable.

I’ve seen God move “mountains” in my own life—situations that felt hopeless, prayers I thought would never be answered. Those moments didn’t happen because I had perfect faith; they happened because I placed even a small seed of faith in a God who is limitless.

Your “mountain” might be a financial burden, a health crisis, or a broken relationship. Whatever it is, trust that God can move it. Faith isn’t about your ability to believe perfectly; it’s about leaning on the One who is perfectly faithful.

Lord, thank You that even mustard-seed faith in You is powerful. Help me trust You with every obstacle in my life and believe that nothing is impossible for You. Amen.
