30 Days to Confident Faith

DAY 18 OF 30

Devotional:
Joshua was stepping into leadership after Moses’ death, and the weight of responsibility was crushing. He was called to lead an entire nation into the Promised Land, and fear was a natural response. But God didn’t give Joshua a gentle suggestion—He gave him a command:“Be strong and courageous.” Why? Because Joshua wasn’t expected to lead in his own strength; God’s presence guaranteed victory.

I felt a taste of Joshua’s fear when God called me to grow from youth ministry into women’s ministry leadership. I didn’t feel ready. I worried I would fail or disappoint others. The jump felt too big, and I found myself wrestling with imposter syndrome, thinking,“God, are You sure You picked the right person?”

But every time I prayed, the Holy Spirit reminded me:“You don’t have to feel courageous to be courageous. Just obey, and I’ll meet you there.”

The more I stepped out in obedience, the more I realized this ministry wasn’t about my qualifications or confidence—it was about God’s power working through me. As I humbled myself and allowed the Holy Spirit to lead, doors opened, lives were changed, and victory followed—not because I was great, but because He is.

Leadership isn’t about a title; it’s about influence and obedience. Whether you’re leading a team, guiding your children, discipling a friend, or pastoring a congregation, courage is a choice, not a feeling. God never asks us to lead alone; His presence is the source of strength we need.

Thought to Ponder:
Where is God calling me to step up and lead courageously, trusting His Spirit to do the work through me?

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for calling me to lead, even when I don’t feel ready. Help me to lower myself so Your Spirit can rise in me. Teach me to lead with courage, humility, and bold faith, knowing victory comes from You alone. Amen.
