Words are powerful. They can build someone up—or tear them down in seconds. In 1 Peter 3:10, we’re reminded that if we want to live a life of joy, we need to be careful with how we speak. That means no lies, no gossip, no harsh words—even when we’re angry or frustrated.
As a teenager, you might feel pressure to talk like everyone else or say things just to fit in. But God calls you to a higher standard. When you choose truth and kindness in your words, you reflect Jesus and bring life to those around you.
Pay attention to your words today. Choose one way to speak life—whether it’s encouraging someone, apologizing, or staying silent when tempted to gossip.

About this Plan

From family to classmates to neighbors to social media, you have the ability to affect those around you. You have influence, and what you do with that influence matters. In this four-week series, you'll be challenged to pay attention to the "butterfly effect" that you have on others and be encouraged for that to be shaped by the effect Jesus wants you to have in the lives of others.
