Start Dreaming Again: From Valley to Vision

DAY 10 OF 30

Who Do You Belong To?

“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him.” Jeremiah 17:7 BSB

Have you ever seen two kids squabble on a playground, pushing each other around until one finally cries out, “My dad can beat your dad!”? It’s a classic scene played out repeatedly in movies and TV.

Who do you belong to? When the enemy pushes you around, who do you align your life with? Where does your confidence lie?

God is compassionate to all. He shows his kindness to everyone, even those outside the faith, with the hope that it will lead them to repentance and faith in him. However, the Bible is filled with promises especially for God’s people. Just like you take care of your family, as a good Father, God is watching over his kids. He is the Good Shepherd!

“I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me, just as the Father knows me and I know the Father—and I lay down my life for the sheep” (John 10:14–15 NIV).

Unfortunately, this doesn’t mean your life is “bully-proof.” The Bible says the devil is always on the prowl, looking for someone to intimidate and devour. But if you grasp the concept of sonship, then when the enemy rushes at you like a bully, you’re able to push back with a “my dad can beat your dad” kind of mentality.

Take a moment now and let this truth soak into your soul. It’s critical to your well-being and your ability to overcome obstacles and persevere when your faith is challenged. Don’t allow the enemy to stall you and hold you back from God’s good purposes for your life. Remember whose you are.

You are the Lord’s. You belong to him. And he takes care of his own. In that truth there is rest, comfort, and strength to persevere in life’s journey. Don’t let the enemy bully you around.

Pray:“God, I declare that I am yours! You are my heavenly Father and I trust you to protect me in every situation. I align my life with yours. In Jesus’ name, amen.”

Seek: Is there an area in your life where you have felt bullied? Push back with the promises of God and ask the Lord to intervene for you today.

Speak: The enemy cannot bully me around. I belong to God.
