Happiness Is Jesus

Since the dawn of time, the pursuit of happiness has been the main quest of every human being. Consciously or unconsciously, we all seek to satisfy an emptiness that lies in the depths of our being.

Some think they can satisfy this need through philosophy and the arts, others through the approval and recognition that Man can give, or through the pleasures of the flesh. The sad reality is that nothing and no one can completely satisfy this quest for well-being.

When I say “nobody," I may be mistaken. For there is indeed someone who can fill this void. He has always been; before the creation of the universe, before the throne, before cherubim and seraphim, before man and woman, He has never ceased to exist. He is alive and very close to you; closer than the garment you wear on your body and more real than your next breath. He will forever be King of kings and Lord of lords—His majesty and beauty are beyond description.

His name is Jesus. Oh, the wonderful name of our Savior! Only Jesus Christ can occupy that empty space in our souls. He has, moreover, created it in us for Him alone to dwell in, so that we may be amply satisfied in Him.

In the first part of Psalm 4, verse 6, humanity's famous question is asked: “Who will show us happiness?” In a perfectly orchestrated manner, God gives us the answer in the second part: “Let the light of Your face shine on us, O Lord”. The inexhaustible source of joy and happiness is thus to be found in the face of Christ—luminous and emanating abundant life. Our greatest calling and privilege on this earth is to behold the approving face of a perfect Father who loves us—the face of God.

Recollect yourself now and say aloud, “I was born and specially designed to be loved by God and to love Him in return.”
