Creation and the Fall
Our journey as followers of Jesus begins when we realize we need someone to save us from our sin. Sin is anything we do, say, or think that goes against God.As we see in Genesis, sin always leads to brokenness and death. But God’s grace changes everything. Through Jesus, we can have eternal life: the chance to live forever in the fullness of God’s presence. Salvation is not something we can earn on our own; it is God’s gift through Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross. When we receive this gift, our lives are transformed daily through the work of God’s presence in us. Instead of living in sin, we can choose to honor Him and share His love with the world.
Reflection:
How does knowing that salvation is a gift change the way you think about following Jesus?
Prayer:
“God, thank You for the eternal life I can have because of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross for me. I know there is no way I can earn my own salvation. Thank You. What do You want me to do today with all You’ve entrusted me with to honor You and to help Your kingdom grow? In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
