You are God's Valued Possession.

I came into the world as a NICU preemie before doctors understood the importance of human touch and mother-infant bonds. This lack of awareness, coupled with bouts of pneumonia that resulted in numerous hospital stays, caused me to spend much of my first few months in an incubator. While this stemmed from the value adults placed on my life, the lack of tangible affection negatively impacted my vulnerable soul.

Sometimes, that deep-seated pain still arises, particularly when I feel rejected or excluded or fear I’ve done or said something to drive people away. I began to heal when I started to understand, and accept, how the Lord sees me. He never deems us burdensome or undeserving of His time. To the contrary, He calls us precious, honored, and worth the death of His beloved Son.

That’s not to say He doesn’t see our faults. Rather, He’s determined, in His all-knowing brilliance, that not even the most grievous sins can diminish our value, cause Him to turn away or relax His grip on our lives. He calls us His cherished possession, and He alone holds the authority to define our worth.
