Romans 16
To the Only Wise God
Paul ends Romans with a song. A doxology. He’s taken us through deep theology—righteousness, grace, the Spirit, the body of Christ—and he lands with praise.
“Now to him who is able to establish you…” That word—establish—is strong. It’s the sense of being made firm, grounded, unshakable. Paul reminds us that the gospel doesn’t just save us—it strengthens us. It roots us in truth when the world feels unstable.
He speaks of the mystery revealed—the gospel that was once hidden but is now made known to all nations. This is God’s story unfolding across generations, not just for one group, but for all people.
Paul ends the letter the way he lived—pointing to Jesus, glorifying God. His final words: “To the only wise God be glory forever through Jesus Christ.” In a world full of competing voices and ideas, Paul points us back to the source of wisdom and power.
The story isn’t about Paul. It’s about God. It always has been. The one who calls, who saves, who establishes, who is faithful to the end. All glory to Him.
