So That

DAY 2 OF 3

Scripture Was Given So That We May Be Equipped

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work." 2 Timothy 3:16–17 (NIV).

The Bible isn’t just for inspiration; it’s for transformation. God gave us His Word so that we would be equipped to serve Him and carry out His purposes in our generation.

The Bible does four things—it teaches us, it corrects us, it rebukes us, and it trains us. When we allow God’s Word to shape us, He equips us to join Him in His mission and walk in the good works He has already prepared for us.

How is God using His Word today to teach, correct, or train you so that you can be better equipped to serve Him?

Prayer: Father God, Thank You for the gift of the Bible. Help me to receive it with humility, allowing it to teach, correct, and equip me for every good work that you have prepared. Make me a faithful servant who carries out your mission with faith and courage. In Jesus name, Amen.

About this Plan

So That

The phrase “so that” in the Bible points us to purpose. Jesus didn’t come without intention. The Bible wasn’t given without direction. And our gifts weren’t entrusted without reason. In this 3-day devotional, we look at three powerful truths from God’s Word: Jesus came so that we could have eternal life, the Bible was given so that we could be equipped, and gifts were entrusted so that we could bring glory to God. May we be reminded of God’s purpose for your life and inspired to live it out.
