Go After Jesus: The Adventure of a LIfetime!Sample

Day 2: The Challenges of Following Jesus (Part 1)
đź“– 1 John 1:9
đź’ˇ Go After Jesus Principle #2
Do not let your past mistakes, your present doubts, or your fleeting feelings keep you from following Jesus.
✍️ Devotional Thought
Every person who follows Jesus will face challenges. One of the most common is our past. Guilt can weigh us down and whisper, “You are unworthy.” But the promise of Scripture is clear: "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." Your past does not define you—Jesus does.
Another challenge is doubt. Even those closest to Jesus wrestled with uncertainty at times. Doubts don’t have to drive you away; they can draw you closer if you bring them honestly to Him. Real faith isn’t pretending to have all the answers—it’s trusting Jesus even when you don’t.
A third challenge comes from our feelings. Feelings are real, but they aren’t always reliable. They change with circumstances, but God’s truth is constant. If you only follow Jesus when you feel like it, you’ll miss out on the steady joy of walking with Him daily.
Don’t let your past, your doubts, or your feelings keep you from Jesus. He is greater than every obstacle. He invites you to keep coming after Him, no matter what.
âť“ Reflection Question
Which of these three most often gets in your way—your past, your doubts, or your feelings?
🚀 Today’s Challenge
Take one of those obstacles and name it before God. Then, write a truth from Scripture that speaks against it. Let His Word be louder than the lie.
🙏 Prayer
Jesus, thank You that my past is forgiven, my doubts are met with Your truth, and my feelings do not control me. Help me to walk with You faithfully today, no matter what I face. Amen.
