Carpe NOW: Time to Seize Your Best Life This Very Second

Maybe you have never believed in God. Maybe you believe in God, but you do not have a relationship with Him. Possibly after reading this devotion and listening to my life experiences, you will realize there is a God and want to know Him. If that is the case, there is a place for you in God’s loving arms. God desires deeply to have a one-on-one relationship with you. There is nothing you can do to earn His favor. His love and forgiveness are for everyone. He gives that to you freely in the person of Jesus Christ.

Jesus not only existed two thousand years ago, but He also proclaimed Himself to be God. Through many eyewitnesses and verifiable written testimonies, He performed many miracles and incredible signs. He performed no greater miracle than predicting His exact death on a cross by crucifixion. The story goes, God came to save His people, the Jews, but His people did not recognize Him. Jesus proclaimed Himself to be God, and the Jews did not believe He was the Messiah, the chosen One, God. For that reason, they had the Romans put Jesus to death.

Jesus not only foresaw exactly how He would die but also all the little details that led up to His crucifixion. Before His death He also proclaimed that He would not be bound by the grave but that He would rise from the grave three days later. There were thousands of eyewitnesses, and there is verifiable written testimony that He did in fact, rise from the grave. Just as surely as Christopher Columbus sailed the open seas to discover new land and Michelangelo created a masterpiece at the Sistine Chapel, Jesus did in fact rise from the grave. Arguably, this is a verifiable fact. There is more proof than people realize and acknowledge. There is more evidence that He rose from the grave than that He did not.

That piece of information is pivotal. If Jesus did in fact rise from the grave, then you would have to take into account everything that He stated in His short life as from God because that is who He declared Himself to be. Facts: Jesus was a man who existed for only thirty-three years. He is indisputably the single most influential person in history. Crazily enough, though Jesus died at thirty-three, He only began His ministry at thirty years of age. He did not start proclaiming who He was or performing any miracles until the age of thirty. Jesus changed the world forever in a short three years. Better yet, Jesus changed the world in just a few moments on the cross when He bore all humanity’s sins on His back.

Josh McDowell and Sean McDowell, co-authors of the best-selling book More Than a Carpenter, with over fifteen million copies sold, said it precisely best: Jesus was either “a liar, a lunatic, or Lord and God.” Which was it? Draw your own conclusion. When you truly review the evidence, it is staggering—actually mind-blowing. But you know as well as I do, people typically do not do the necessary due diligence to find out for themselves. Typically, if people do not understand something, they either ignore it or bash it. My challenge for people who struggle with the merits of what I am presenting: go find out the truth for yourself. I guarantee if you knock on that door, you will get an answer, whether you like it or not.

Jesus not only was God, but He is the living and active God. He is everywhere all the time. He is all-knowing and all-capable. There is nothing outside of His scope or reach. He knows you by name. He knows you so intimately that He even knows the hair count on your head. If you believe as I do that Jesus Christ is God and that He did in fact sacrifice Himself for our sins, simply have a conversation with Him. Let Him know that you believe in your heart and with your whole being that He is the living God. Trust Him with your life. Live as He would want you to live a life for Him and others. Jesus will take care of you. I know this to be true. He has taken care of me for twenty-two years. He has also changed billions of lives over generations. He is not stopping anytime soon.

If you have no interest in believing in God or having a relationship with Him, I am not here to pressure you otherwise. As I have declared, I am giving you my everything by sharing my complete, authentic heart with you. I only want to see you live your best life. I believe that the best life is in Jesus. I believe that He is the true firm foundation of everyone’s life. If you are not there, I hope one day you will reconsider, but as for now, just know that I love you and want the best for you.

Hopefully, you are now at a place where you have completely embraced the new you. Now you must make sure to be a master at each of the ten authentic habits. Your mastery of each is going to be the difference between you succeeding by reaching your full potential or not. By now I hope that you understand what it takes to find your true Foundation. To clarify your personal Mission in life. You can now create a Blueprint for success that maps out your journey. You are fully aware that it is going to take Perseverance to push past the difficult times. That your personal Fitness needs to be one of your top priorities. You are committing to finding a Community of people to support you. You realize that your life is not just about you but about exhibiting Selflessness towards others—serving people with your whole heart. That being a lifelong student is all a part of the Growth process. You understand that your Discipline will be tested, yet you will remain positive and be consistent. Finally, you know that it takes a strong Mindset to steer the ship of your life. To achieve this level of personal success and fulfillment in life, you must always remember to remain diligent in all ten authentic habits.

Remember, it is YOU versus YOU. The only person who can get in your way is yourself. Take extreme ownership of your life and live your best life. The time for action is this very second. Your time is NOW. You are alive; that means you have unfinished business. You have a purpose that will feed your passion. That passion will carry you to your destination. You will encounter roadblocks, but they will not stop you. Nothing will stop you. You are relentlessly in pursuit of a full, purpose-filled, rich life. A life that is led by your most authentic self. Your authentic self is thankful to be found, as now the shackles are off, your burdens are finally lifted, your life has a reason, and things will never be the same. There is only one thing left to do, Carpe NOW!
