In Christ: A Journey Through EphesiansSample

Strength for the Battle
Ephesians 6 begins with practical instructions for households—children, parents, and workers—all framed by a deeper truth: our service is ultimately to the Lord (Ephesians 6:1–9). Whatever role we play, we do it “as to Christ.”
Then Paul closes with a call to stand strong in the Lord’s strength and put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10–11). Why? Because we are in a spiritual battle—not against people, but against unseen forces of darkness (Ephesians 6:12). This echoes 2 Corinthians 10:4, which says the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but have divine power to destroy strongholds.
We’re given armor to stand firm: truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, and the Word of God (Ephesians 6:14–17). Prayer is the thread that ties it all together. We’re not just told to be strong—we’re equipped to be.
This chapter ends with Paul asking for boldness to proclaim the gospel. Even in chains, his focus is the mission. That’s the mindset we’re called to—faithful, prayerful, and unshaken.
Prayer:
Father, clothe me in Your armor so I can stand firm in every spiritual battle. Strengthen me with truth, guard me with peace, and help me wield Your Word with wisdom. May I serve and speak with boldness, knowing You are my strength and victory. Amen.
