Be Your Best to Give Your Best!Sample

Day 13 — Calling All Control Freaks!
If you are looking for something you can actually control, it is your mind.
We are unable to control our circumstances and the reactions of others, but we can control what we feed our mind, what we choose to believe, what we listen to, and what we give our attention to—these are all things in our control.
Every change in our lives begins with a change in our mindset. The thoughts we cultivate shape our choices, and our choices set the direction of our lives.
Taking control of our thoughts does not simply mean trying to “think positive.” It means learning to discern which beliefs align with the Word of God and which do not—and then replacing wrong thoughts and false beliefs with Truth.
For example, you may think: “I am not qualified enough to lead this new project,” but God’s Word says: “It is God who equips you for every good work” (2 Timothy 3:17, NIV). Perhaps you have thought: “I will never succeed in business without compromising my values,” yet Scripture reminds us: “The integrity of the upright guides them” (Proverbs 11:3, NIV), or maybe you have felt: “There are too many others more talented than me,” however, the truth is: “You are God’s handwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for you to do” (Ephesians 2:10, NIV).
A mind renewed by the Truth of God’s Word (see Romans 12:2) is the starting point for living a life aligned with His purpose for us.
Today, take some time to reflect on any negative thoughts or limiting beliefs that may be preventing you from fully living out God’s will for your life?
Prayer: Lord, help me to recognize every thought that does not align with Your Word, and not allow myself to be led by lies, fears, or limiting beliefs. Increase my discernment so that I may always recognize which thoughts align with Your Word and which do not. I choose to keep my mind focused on You and aligned with Truth. Amen
