No Days Off: A 7-Day DevotionalSample

A Mission As You Go
Devotional:
Being a follower of Jesus is more than a title. It’s more than a bumper sticker, a social media bio, or a prayer whispered at the end of a church service. Following Jesus is exactly that—following Him. Every single day. No days off.
Each day, we have an opportunity to know Him more and grow in our faith. And as we do, something amazing happens—our purpose becomes clearer. We begin to understand why we are here, and we realize that our calling is bigger than just making it through another day.
Jesus made that calling clear before He ascended into heaven. He gave us a mission:
"Go and make disciples of all nations…" (Matthew 28:19).
That word “GO” means as you go—as you go to work, as you go to the store, as you go through life raising your kids, making decisions, facing challenges. Wherever you are, your mission remains the same: to make disciples, to shine His light, and to reflect His love to those around you.
Paul reminds us in Romans 10:14: "How will they know unless you tell them? How can they believe in a God they have never heard about?"
The answer is simple: they won’t—unless you show them.
You are Christ’s ambassador. God is making His appeal to the world through you. Your co-workers, your friends, your neighbors—they may never step inside a church, but they see you every day. Your life, your words, and your love for Jesus are how they encounter Him.
Questions:
- Where in your daily life can you be more intentional about sharing Jesus?
- Who in your world might be waiting for you to shine the light of Christ?
- What’s one step you can take today to live out your mission?
Prayer:
Lord, thank you for calling me to something greater than just getting through the day. Help me to follow you fully—every day, with no days off. Open my eyes to those around me who need to know your love. Let my life reflect your light so that others may see and know you. In Jesus' name, Amen.
