30-Day Marriage Class by Vance K. JacksonSample

Exalted.
According to Strong’s Concordance, the Hebrew word for “Syria” is, “Aram” (H758), which means “Exalted.” What has “exalted” itself against your family? What has “exalted” itself against your marriage? Who has exalted themselves against your marriage? Who or what is warring against your family?
Maybe, it’s financial pressures. Maybe, it’s the opinion of people that’s weighing you down. Maybe, it’s lust that’s warring against your family’s bloodline. Maybe, it’s depression that’s trying to weigh your family down. Or maybe, it’s condemnation that’s trying to remind you of the past. Who or what is warring against you and your family?
Remember, according to Strong’s Concordance, the word “Syria” means “Exalted.” When the king of Syria wars against your family, this spirit tries to exalt itself against you. Remember, in 2 Kings 6, when the king of Syria tried to attack Elisha, the king (or the oppressive spirit) tried to magnify himself against Elisha by sending his army in the middle of the night to surround Elisha in order to instill fear.
What’s trying to suffocate your marriage? What’s trying to magnify itself against your family? The king of Syria tried to silently attack Elisha in the middle of the night by surrounding him with his army. What’s trying to attack you in the middle of the night? What’s keeping you up at night? What’s trying to suffocate your vision? What’s trying to suffocate your family’s dreams? Who’s trying to intimidate you? What’s trying to silently choke your destiny and suffocate the heart of your marriage?
In 2 Kings 6:8 KJV, let’s examine this spiritual dynamic between the king of Syria and the children of Israel. Let’s study and take note of how the king of Syria functioned. 2 Kings 6:8 KJV declares, “Then the king of Syria warred against Israel, and took counsel with his servants, saying, In such and such a place shall be my camp.”
