30-Day Marriage Class by Vance K. JacksonSample

Draw Near to God.
“Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double-minded.” James 4:8 KJV
Surrendering is a choice. Surrendering is a daily decision. When you submit your heart and life to God, it’s a daily choice and a lifestyle. Surrendering is a daily act. Choose to surrender to God in every aspect of your life. 1 Peter 5:7 KJV declares, “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” Choose to cast everything over to God. Don’t let the cares of the world weigh you down. Don’t let the things of this world stress you out. Decide to surrender to God.
Choose not to argue about the cares and worries of this world, ask God for wisdom, and surround yourself with wise counselors and advisors. Surrender your desires over to God and don’t let anxiety rule over your heart. Practice living out 1 Peter 5:7 together. Cast your cares together.
Draw nigh to God and He will draw nigh to you. Draw close to God in every area of your heart. Ask God to give you wisdom when you don’t have understanding. When you don’t have the answers, choose to surrender to God. Choose to surrender to God—even when you think that you have the answers.
Proverbs 3:5–6 KJV commands us to, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” The Amplified Version puts it this way, “Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths.” Proverbs 3:5–6 AMPC.
Choose to trust in the Lord. Choose to lean upon the Lord with all of your heart. Let your heart lean upon Him. Let His Word become the foundation and the bedrock of your life and your marriage. Draw near to Him. Draw close to Him together. If you don’t have the answers, simply pray and ask God. James 1:5 KJV declares, “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.” God gives wisdom liberally. But you have to ask. Submit your heart to Him and allow God to soften every hardened area. You don’t have all the answers. Ask God. Ask Him how to have a fruitful, full, and satisfying marriage.
Yes, Christ wants you to have a full, satisfying, and successful marriage. He wants your marriage to be a clean, romantic, happy, and exciting one. God wants you to be satisfied in every area of your life and marriage. 3 John 1:2 KJV declares, “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” God desires that your spiritual and natural life prospers—including your marriage.
