READY:

SET:

My son, Deric, who recently turned 18, had his life turned upside down. Although he was brought up with a youth pastor father and saw firsthand the blessings of a Christ-filled life, he had chosen the world’s ways, not God’s. Out of love, I intervened and sent him to find his own path with God at Teen Challenge camp.

After months serving the Lord, finding scripture to support a godly existence and learning that exhibiting Christ-like behavior is the only right way to live, Deric left camp with a renewed spirit…the Holy Spirit. Now, my son speaks of his walk with Christ and how without the Lord nothing is important. He knows that following the teachings in the Bible can save him a lot of trouble on his life’s journey. It is more important to Deric now to have salvation than to run life’s race with sinners.

Now, when I speak at FCA groups I can see my son in the faces of the young adults.. I am a very proud father, but more importantly I am thankful of Christ’s sacrifice on the cross so that young men and women, like my son, can find salvation in Him and live a blessed life.

Father, I pray that I will seek Your ways for my life and not the world’s. That I will heed to Your instructions to avoid the temptations that pull me away from You. Amen.
