Start Here: The Greatest CommandmentsSample

When you follow Jesus, you’ve been given something powerful, the Holy Spirit. With the Spirit comes everything you need to live in a way that honors God—the power to love and self-discipline.
But even though those things are available to you, you still have a choice. There will be moments when loving others feels costly and fear will make you want to shrink back. There will be times when choosing what’s right feels harder than giving in.
God’s Spirit empowers you to do what you couldn’t on your own. He gives you strength to love boldly and live wisely—not because it’s easy, but because He’s with you.
Loving God with all your mind and strength means relying on His Spirit, not your own effort.
Talk with a friend and ask: Where do you sense God asking you to walk in courage or discipline this week?

About this Plan

Sometimes following God feels a little complicated. There seem to be many things to remember, prayers to pray, and guidelines for how we're supposed to live. How do we even know where to start? In this devotional series, we'll find our starting point in the words of Jesus, focusing on the greatest thing Jesus calls us to do: love God, love others, and love ourselves.
