Run to the Brokenness

DAY 10 OF 10

Day 10: You Can Change Your Community:

Congratulations—you’ve made it to the final day of the Run to the Brokenness devotional journey! Over these ten days, we’ve explored what it means to step into the mess, the need, and the mission God has placed before us. Today, we close with a final truth: God isn’t looking for perfection—He’s looking for people who will show up.

And that means you.

You don’t need to be the most eloquent, the most resourced, or the most recognized to change your city. You simply need to be available. God has always done extraordinary things through ordinary people with surrendered hearts. As 1 Samuel 16:7 (NIV) reminds us, “The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” What God sees in you is not your limitations—but your potential when empowered by Him.

This isn’t about impressing people. It’s about impacting lives.

It’s about being the kind of church that refuses to sit back in comfort while people in your community suffer in silence. It’s about becoming trusted—not just for your preaching or programs—but for your compassion, presence, and action.

When God gives you a dream, it might feel too big or too fragile to chase. You might question if you’re capable, or wonder if it's even possible. But remember this: your responsibility is obedience—God’s is outcome. If you’ll simply run to the brokenness, you’ll discover that heaven meets you there, again and again.

As Jesus said in Matthew 25:23 (NKJV), “Well done, good and faithful servant... Enter into the joy of your Lord.” Those are the words we all long to hear—not because we led flashy ministries or had viral sermons, but because we were faithful to what He asked of us.

Sometimes, it won’t make sense. Other times, it won’t feel like it’s working. You’ll pour out and see little in return. You’ll sow with tears and wait longer than expected for the harvest. But don’t give up. As Galatians 6:9 (NIV) urges us, “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”

You may feel average. You may feel invisible. But you are not disqualified. You are exactly the kind of person God delights to use.

Daniel 11:32 (NKJV) says, “The people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits.” That’s not reserved for the elite. That’s a promise for the obedient.

This journey ends where it truly begins: with you.

Will you trust Him with your next step?

Will you stop measuring success by numbers and start measuring it by obedience?

Will you run—heart first—toward the broken places in your city?

If you do, you won’t just see lives changed.

You’ll see communities transformed.

And one day, when you stand before the throne, your life won’t just echo with words.

It will shout with evidence.

You ran to the brokenness.

You trusted your God.

You built something beautiful.

So now, go.

Don’t wait.

Don’t hold back.

Run.
