What the Bible Says About ... Volume 2Sample

Forgive as the Lord Forgives
Forgive as the Lord forgave you.
For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
Two people owed money to a certain moneylender. One owed him five hundred denarii, and the other fifty. Neither of them had the money to pay him back, so he forgave the debts of both. Now, which of them will love him more? … I canceled all that debt of yours because you begged me to. Shouldn’t you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?
When you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins. … For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. … Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
How many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times? Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.”
And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
