What the Bible Says About ... Volume 2Sample

Content in His Provision
Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.
Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought. … Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes and clever in their own sight. … Believers in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ must not show favoritism. … But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him. … Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him?
No one should seek their own good, but the good of others. … But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. … Give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me only my daily bread. … Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have. … Should you then seek great things for yourself? Do not seek them. … My heart is not proud, Lord, my eyes are not haughty; I do not concern myself with great matters or things too wonderful for me.
