DAY 3 OF 5

Day 3: Steady Steps – Klipspringer

With a name that means “rock leaper” and superstrong hind legs, this small African antelope can jump ten feet straight up and land on a space no bigger than a saltine cracker! Its steadiness on the roughest ground keeps it safe from less nimble predators and allows it to find food in the trickiest places.

When life gets rocky and rough, we can trust God and the guidance we find in the Bible. God cares for us and knows how life works best. He can give us peace and steady us through the most challenging circumstances. God can make us sure-footed like the klipspringer!

Did you know?

Fun fact: Big jumps are often hard on an animal’s bones and joints. God gave klipspringers cylinder-shaped hooves that are firm on the outside and rubbery on the inside to absorb the impact of their leaps.

Make it stick!

Stand on one foot for as long as you can, and time yourself. How long did you make it? Now stand on one foot while holding on to a wall or table. Much easier, right? That’s how it is when we rely on God’s Word to steady us!

Prayer

Lord of life, I am grateful that Your truth and peace steady me no matter how rough life may get. Help me rely on Your promises in good times and hard times.
