Master, the Tempest Is RagingSample

MARRIAGE IS HOLY!
**Notice: This content includes sensitive themes that some readers may find difficult: Mentions of sexual activity or temptation. Please take care as you read.
Do you know that marriage was intended to be Holy! Unfortunately, many overlook Holiness when it comes to marriage. In contemporary society, marriage is often perceived as a license to engage in sinful behaviours together. No, the Word of God is unequivocal; God says that the marriage bed should be kept undefiled – Holy! The presence of God in the marriage makes it holy. We are called to honour God’s presence in our marriage. Holiness is Christ in us and in our marriage.
Today, we observe couples engaging in various forms of immorality driven by the demands and suggestions of their depraved desires (Ephesians 4:19b). This is because their hearts are hardened, and the moral understanding is darkened; therefore, they are blind (Ephesians 4:18). Perversions are normalized and has become a silent killer of marriage today! Let’s awake!
Is our marriage bed Holy? What does it mean? It pertains to the two people, if the husband and wife are Holy in the sight of God. Is there any defilement from the past that we have carried into the marriage? Are there any sexual sins in our lives? Are there any sexual addictions like masturbation, watching pornography, flirting with the opposite sex, etc., or is there same sex attraction? All these are defilements. They would make our marriage unholy. Unholy means there is darkness over our marriage. It also means that satan has dominion over our marriage. Now he will use his craftiness to steal, kill, and destroy the marriage.
Rise up to sanctify your marriage: If God has shown you that your marriage has defilement, immediately say the following prayer. You may choose to pray together or individually, as God has the power to sanctify both you and your marriage.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, I agree and confess that there is defilement in my marriage. I pray that You would sanctify our body, soul, and spirit with Your precious blood. I renounce and cancel every foothold we have given to the enemy in our lives, and I invite You, Jesus, to rule and reign in our marriage!

About this Plan

The disciples were caught in a storm while Jesus slept in their boat. They woke Him, pleading for help, and He miraculously calmed the storm. Similarly, in troubled marriages, we may seek God’s divine intervention, but God often focuses on transforming hearts. This devotional encourages opening our hearts to Jesus for the necessary support in a marital relationship. In order to restore a marriage relationship, God may sometimes choose just one spouse. You may be that one! We pray that this devotional will guide you in opening your heart to Jesus, allowing Him to provide the counsel you need.
