What Gen Z Really Wants to Know About GodSample

Am I Enough?
Many young people are asking if they are enough to be loved or to be valued. This is not a question regarding sin and righteousness in the face of a holy God. It is more like a child asking a parent, “What do I need to do to earn your love?” On average, four out of ten Gen Zers globally are not confident they are worthy of being loved. Many are on a never-ending quest to find their worthiness to be loved and valued toward a finish line that never seems to stand still. How many of us are asking: Am I enough?
It is not what we do that makes us worthy of God’s love; it is God’s love that gives us value. In other words, we do not derive God’s love by proving our value, but we are valuable because God loves us. By God identifying us as his beloved ones, he assigns value to us. By offering forgiveness, he assigns us an identity as his beloved ones.
From the beginning, God decided: You are enough to be loved and valued. The contrary message has been too loud for too long, and it will take repetition to create a new way of thinking and then to believe this: I am enough for God to love and value me, because God says so. I am forgiven and beloved. I am enough because of Jesus.
