30 Famous Bible Verses ExplainedSample

Bible Verse 7
… but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31 NIV
Why Is This Verse Famous?
This verse is loved for its imagery and promise. It’s often quoted by people who are tired, discouraged, or in need of fresh energy to keep going.
A Short Explanation of the Verse
The Bible doesn’t shy away from big questions like “Why does God allow suffering?” Whole books, like Isaiah, spend time reflecting and wrestling with how a good God could let bad things happen.
Over the next few days, we’ll read verses from several different biblical authors who shared encouragement to God’s people in a time of ultimate crisis. Their cities were overrun, and they were about to be sent away into exile. Their whole way of life felt gone forever, and everyone had lost loved ones.
Isaiah spoke these words to people who felt worn down and hopeless. They’d faced the worst life has to offer, and naturally began to wonder if God had given up on them. These words reminded them that God’s strength never runs out and that those who put their hope in Him will be renewed.
No matter what life looks like, God is still in control. He might seem distant, or like He’s not paying attention to the real pain of life, but this verse insists that He’s close and He cares. That’s why we can have hope.
What Could This Verse Mean for You?
If you’re tired, discouraged, or ready to give up, you’re not alone. God can renew your strength today and help you keep going, one step at a time.
