Jesus Is…The FulfillmentSample

Day 1 - Jesus is…the new Adam.
Romans 5:12-16 (ESV)
Devotional: The life and resurrection of Jesus redeem what Adam failed to do. Adam was the first man created and was meant to walk with God in a perfect garden. Sounds so nice! However, he failed to take care of the garden and allowed the serpent to rule where he was supposed to. The acts of Adam caused a cosmic division between God and humanity, but we should not be so arrogant as to think we would have done any better. The point is, Jesus has fulfilled what we literally could not. He is restoring the world by offering salvation to those who believe in Him. He is transforming the world into His image while removing the effects of the fall. Jesus has brought life to all. Consider all that is broken in the world because of Adam's sin: war, famine, disease, natural disasters, and our daily struggle with sin. Oh, how grand a victory God has won, and that one day, the brokenness of the world will be no more.
Prayer: Jesus, you fulfilled what we could not! What a gift! I mourn the loss of a perfect world, but eagerly await the day when I can be in perfection with You forever.
