Our Persistent PrayerSample

A Persistent Prayer
Have you ever seen something unfair? Like, not just, “No fair! His slice of cake is bigger than mine!” No, something really—really—unfair.
Like, someone said you did something bad that you didn’t do. Or someone stole something special of yours. Or you asked for help but got ignored.
Those things are super unfair. They’re not right. They’re unjust. And they’re not okay with God.
This Bible Plan is going to help you explore God’s design for justice. You’ll get to dig deep into a parable (a simple story with deeper meaning) Jesus told about a persistent widow.
Watch this so you can get the picture!
Wow. That judge had no help to give. But the widow didn’t give up! Anytime you need help, take it to God—and keep on praying. Go all in with persistent prayers for justice and righteousness for everyone.
Each day of this Bible Plan, you’ll read the parable of the persistent widow for yourself. As you learn more about it, your understanding of it may change, too.
Ask yourself: What’s something in my world that’s unfair? Think about your personal life, the lives of your friends, your community, etc.
Challenge yourself: Find something like a journal, a notebook, or a pad of paper so you can keep notes as you read this Bible Plan. Today, draw something that represents your answer to the “Ask yourself” question above. Pray about it when you’re done.
Your persistent prayer: God, justice is Your design, and I want everyone on earth to know Your righteousness. Count me in as Your partner. Lead me to where things are broken and direct me on how to make a difference. Until Your world is restored and evil is no more, amen.
