God's glory will return
One of the most heartbreaking moments in Ezekiel’s visions was when the glory of the Lord departed from the temple. It symbolised God’s sorrow and distance from His people due to their rebellion. But Ezekiel’s story doesn’t end in exile or despair – it crescendos in restoration. In Ezekiel 43, we see hope come rushing in: God’s glory returns. Even after the people had failed, forgotten, and fallen away, God still came back. He still desired to dwell among them. He still wanted to be close.
Maybe you’ve felt like God’s presence has been far from your life. Maybe you’ve walked through a season that feels like silence. Be encouraged: His glory is not gone forever. He still comes. God’s glory returning wasn’t because the people earned it – but because of His unfailing love. He is faithful even when we are not. Whatever you’ve walked through, God is still the restorer. He comes not just to visit, but to dwell – with you, in you. And when His glory enters, everything changes. Light floods the darkness. Hope rises again.
Prayer: Lord, thank You that Your glory is not distant. Even when I’ve drifted, You come near. Let Your presence shine in every corner of my life. Restore what’s been lost. Dwell with me. Let Your glory fill this temple. Amen.
