1 CorinthiansSample

Paul sees himself as a servant of Christ. It is not important to him whether people admire him or give him recognition. Even his own judgment of himself is not the decisive factor, as it can often be clouded (self-perception vs. others' perception). For Paul, the only thing that matters is how Jesus sees him. Jesus' standard is not what he has accomplished, how much fruit he has produced, or anything else, but whether he was faithful. Faithfulness means carrying out one's tasks conscientiously, obeying Jesus' will, and honoring Him in everything. God's judgment is perfectly just and incorruptible. He looks at the heart and knows the true motives. For His children, His judgment is revealing, not condemning.
For Reflection
Who do you want to impress? To whom do you feel you must justify yourself? How do you react when you fail at something or receive no applause? How do you see yourself? Instead, ask Jesus how He sees you.

About this Plan

Corinth was a major port city in ancient Greece—a center of commerce, religious diversity, and known for loose living. Precisely there, a young church was growing, learning to live out their faith in a secular environment. Many issues they faced remain relevant today. In this reading plan, you'll see how Paul addresses the early believers’ challenges and shows what it means to live as a church, strengthen one another, and use the Spirit’s gifts. It’s about genuine love, handling conflict, the power of the resurrection, and how faith in Christ can transform everyday life.
