When You’re Desperate: 21 Days of Honest PrayerSample

When You’re Desperate: 21 Days of Honest Prayer

DAY 14 OF 21

When Jesus was asked what mattered most, He gave a clear answer. Love God. Love your neighbor. This is the foundation of a faithful life. To love God with heart, soul, mind, and strength is to give Him everything — not out of pressure, but in response to who He is and what He’s done.

Desperate prayer realigns our hearts around what matters most. It quiets the noise and draws us back to a love that isn’t self-generated, but Spirit-formed and rooted in grace.

Practice:

Desperate prayer pulls us back to love God and love others. Ask God to deepen your love for Him today — with your thoughts, your energy, your affections, your whole self. Ask for grace to love the people around you in specific, costly, and meaningful ways. Let this command shape your thoughts, emotions and actions as you move through your day.

Guided Prayer:

Heavenly Father,

Today, I focus my heart, my soul,

my mind, and my strength on You.

Thank You for loving me first,

setting an example of perfect love.

Guide me to prioritize You above all else,

placing Your will at the center of my life.

Help me love You with all that I am

and all that I have.

Teach me to love others genuinely

as You love me unconditionally.

Help me to see others through Your eyes,

remembering we are all made in Your image.

May Your love overflow from me

into the lives of those who need Your love most.

Give me wisdom to act in love,

serving others selflessly and sacrificially,

just as Jesus has done for me.

Help me honor You in how I love today

and reflect Your grace and mercy to those around me.

About this Plan

When You’re Desperate: 21 Days of Honest Prayer

This is a 21-day prayer journey for when you feel stuck, tired, or just ready to get honest with God. Each day gives you a short passage to read, a brief summary, and a simple way to practice real, desperate prayer. We’ll look at moments in Scripture where people cried out to God — not with polished prayers, but with raw, gut-level faith — and learn to pray that way too. Let’s pour out our prayers and see what God does with them.
