Multiply the Mission: Scaling Your Business for Kingdom Impact

DAY 9 OF 10

Building Kingdom Impact Through Effective Team Dynamics

There are 3 layers of team required to build a self-led company:

- Frontline producers = market-facing, service delivery, client acquisition

- Mid-level management = drives the vision + holds people accountable

- Executive suite = big picture strategy, direction + mentorship

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 (NIV) "Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken."

In the kingdom business landscape, the potential for impact grows exponentially when a company is intentionally structured for both effectiveness and sustainability. The quote above highlights the three essential layers required to build a self-led company, each with distinct but interconnected roles. Together, they mirror the biblical principle of unity and cooperation.

1. Frontline Producers:

Frontline producers are the vital link between the company and the outside world. As those directly involved in market engagement, service delivery, and client acquisition, they embody the hands and feet of the organization. These individuals are on the ground, bearing witness to the testimony of your business. In this role, we are reminded of James 2:18, “Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds.”* Frontline workers demonstrate the heart and mission of your company through their daily actions.

2. Mid-level Management:

The role of mid-level management is to drive the vision and maintain accountability. These leaders ensure that the mission is clear and that everyone is aligned with the company’s values. As described in Habakkuk 2:2, “Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it.” They serve as stewards of the vision, facilitating communication and fostering growth among their teams.

3. Executive Suite:

The executive suite is responsible for big-picture strategy, setting direction, and offering mentorship. Visionary leaders provide wisdom and guidance, akin to the role of Solomon in Proverbs 4:7 (NIV): "The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding." Their insight and mentorship help nurture the next generation of leaders, fostering an environment of continuous development.

As kingdom business leaders, the challenge is not only to establish these layers but to ensure they are interconnected, supporting a unified vision underpinned by faith. This is echoed in Paul’s reminder to the Corinthians about the body of Christ—each part essential, each role unique yet harmonious.

Reflection:

- How are you cultivating unity among these layers to ensure your company is mission-driven?

- In what ways can the biblical principles of teamwork and stewardship enhance your leadership and management practices?

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for the teams You have placed within our organizations. Grant us the wisdom to lead with integrity and vision, aligning our business practices with Your divine principles. Help us foster unity among our teams, that we may work together as instruments of Your kingdom. In Jesus' name, Amen.
