JUDGES 20
THE ISRAELITES BATTLE THE TRIBE OF BENJAMIN
After the cruel and brutal act of the Benjaminites, the men of Israel battled against the tribe of Benjamin. The Israelites, God’s chosen people, are now fighting one another. This is evidence of just how deeply sin and rebellion have fractured the nation.
STUDY QUESTIONS
In Judges 20, the Israelites retaliated against the tribe of Benjamin for their actions against the concubine in Gibeah. Judges 20:35 says that “the Lord defeated Benjamin before Israel, and the people of Israel destroyed 25,100 men of Benjamin that day.” What does it say about the Israelites that God was willing to destroy a segment of His own people?
