Restoring RelationshipsSample

Day 11 – Making Amends
Devotional
When harm is done, God calls us not just to apologize but to actively repair what was broken. From Old Testament laws of restitution to Zacchaeus’s generous response in the New Testament, Scripture affirms that true repentance includes making things right. Making amends can take the form of a sincere apology, changed behavior, restitution, or even going beyond what’s required to bless those we’ve harmed. Restorative justice, unlike the criminal justice system, seeks not just fairness but relational healing—restoring people, repairing trust, and rebuilding peace. As believers, we’re called to be ministers of reconciliation, walking the extra mile to make peace where harm once lived.
Reflection Question:
Is there someone to whom you need to offer amends—through apology, restitution, changed behavior, or even generosity?
Prayer:
God, help me not just to say sorry, but to take real steps toward restoration where I’ve caused harm. Give me courage to make amends, wisdom to know how, and a heart that seeks peace and healing in all my relationships. Amen.
