Totally Transformed

DAY 2 OF 4

Not Who You Were

There’s a difference between improvement and transformation. Improvement tweaks what already exists. Transformation makes something completely new.

When we begin following Jesus, we get a fresh start and we become a new creation. That’s what Paul writes in his letter to the Corinthians. The old you? Gone. The new you? Already being shaped by Christ.

This doesn’t mean we instantly forget everything about who we were. Even as new creations, we still struggle. We still wrestle with sin, selfishness, and moments we regret.

But that struggle itself is actually a sign of growth. The fact that these things bother you is a good thing. That means the Holy Spirit at work—shaping you, convicting you, helping you become more like Christ. You’re not letting God down when you fall short. His love for you isn’t based on how well you perform. You can’t earn more of it, and you can’t lose it. He already gave you his best—himself. And now he’s walking with you, changing you from the inside out.

Guilt, shame, insecurity, and pride no longer get the final word. Jesus does.

In Christ, we’re no longer defined by what we’ve done or what’s been done to us. We’re defined by the One who gave everything to bring us back to God. The transformation is real—even if it’s still in progress.

About this Plan

Totally Transformed

Some think following Jesus is about self-improvement—but what if it’s a total transformation? In this 4-day plan, explore how Jesus interrupted Paul’s life, redefined his identity, and gave him a new purpose. Through Scripture, discover how Jesus doesn’t just fix your past—He transforms your life from the inside out. If you’ve felt stuck in your past or unsure of who you are, this plan is for you.
