A New Kind of Family

DAY 4 OF 4

Being There for Each Other

Following Jesus was never meant to be a solo journey. The early believers knew that. They met often, encouraged each other, and stayed connected—especially when life got hard. Why? Because faith doesn’t grow best in isolation. It needs the presence and support of others to flourish.

Church is where we remind each other of truth, offer strength when someone feels weak, and celebrate what God is doing. We all need that. And others need it from us, too.

Sometimes, we treat church like an optional add-on—something we do when it’s convenient. But Scripture paints a different picture. The Church isn’t a weekly event we attend when we’ve got nothing better going on—it’s a family we show up for. And when we do, something powerful happens: our faith grows deeper, and so does everyone else’s.

Even Jesus surrounded himself with people. If he chose community, why wouldn’t we?

Don’t give up on church just because it’s been hard or disappointing. Hebrews reminds us not to stop meeting together, and not to drift when faith feels lonely.

If church hasn’t felt like a family to you yet, don’t let that stop you from showing up. Keep leaning in. Keep worshiping. Keep encouraging others. Because even when it’s messy, the family of God is worth sticking with.

You might be the person God uses to help someone feel like they belong.

About this Plan

A New Kind of Family

What if church was more than a Sunday event? In this 4-day plan, explore the radical, joyful way of life the early believers shared in Acts 2. The Church is meant to be a Spirit-filled family—centered on Jesus, shaped by love, and open to all generations. If your experience has fallen short, don’t give up. God still invites you into something deeper.
