Hope in RevelationSample

Victory is Won
John is given a sneak peek of heaven. He sees people praising the Lord, the risen Jesus, saying that salvation belongs to God. How amazing is that scene!
Jesus’ victory took place on the cross. We are not waiting for His return for the victory – the victory is already won. Even though the world isn’t perfect, Jesus still reigns. So we place our trust in Him, not in the rulers of this world. I’m not suggesting civil disobedience, but obedience to Christ and to making a difference in our world, now, where our actions and values speak, showing that He is the way and the truth and the life. He is the victory.
Revelation reminds us that God has not abandoned His people and that he will return "someday." He is active, alive, and involved. The Holy Spirit is His gift to us through these times, the guarantee of Jesus’ return. Ephesians 1:13b–14 says, "When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession – to the praise of His glory."
Revelation is a book of hope for God’s people, for all of history, because the victory is won. Now that is true hope.
