Kingdom Parenting

DAY 1 OF 4

Day 1: What Is Kingdom Parenting?

“Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you,
And before you were born, I consecrated you;
I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”
Jeremiah 1:5 (ESV)

Parenting is more than providing food, clothing, and a good education. Kingdom Parenting is focused on raising children to become who God wants them to be and then allowing them to align with God's counsel.

Every child is born with a divine purpose. Before they were formed in the womb, God knew them. He had a plan. He designed them to fit into a specific sphere—education, business, ministry, arts, medicine, government, or any other field. As parents, our responsibility is not to shape our children based on personal ambitions or societal pressure, but to align them with God’s original design, the Jeremiah 1:5 Scheme, for their lives.

Kingdom parenting is an intentional plan by parents to raise children who fit into God’s purpose for their lives. It is about creating what we can call the portrait of the kingdom child. It involves:

  • Dedicating them to the Lord from birth.
  • Praying them into God’s will consistently.
  • Leading them to Christ early in life.

Lord, thank You for the gift of children. Help me to see each child through your eyes. Teach me to parent with intention and to lead with love. May I raise arrows who will stand boldly in their God-ordained place. Shape our children into strong, God-loving individuals who can be launched into their destiny with confidence and power. Let today be the beginning of your intentional parenting journey. Don’t parent blindly. Ask God:

“Lord, what is Your counsel concerning this child? What did you choose them to be?”

Prayer:

Lord, thank you for the gift of children. Help me to see each child through your eyes. Teach me to parent with intention and to lead with love. May I raise arrows who will stand boldly in their God-ordained place.

About this Plan

Kingdom Parenting

Every child carries a divine purpose, but it takes spiritually discerning parents to recognize and nurture that calling early. Join Adun Akinyemiju, Director of the Association of Christian Schools International (Africa), as she delves into kingdom parenting, revealing how to uncover God's purpose for a child and guide them toward fulfilling it.
