How to Achieve a Faith ProjectSample

A faith project involves pursuing something you currently lack the resources to obtain. This might include buying a house, leasing office space, or purchasing equipment for your business, even if you don’t yet have the funds. To help you plan and achieve your faith project, we’ll use a six-step analysis process. Today, we’ll begin by examining steps 1 and 2.
1. What do you already have in your hand?
2 Kings 4:2 says, “And Elisha said unto her, ‘What shall I do for thee? Tell me, what hast thou in the house?’ And she said, ‘Thine handmaid hath not any thing in the house, save a pot of oil.’”
In this story, the woman was deep in debt, and creditors were coming to take her sons. Elisha’s first question was, “What do you have in your house?” Her small jar of oil became the starting point of her breakthrough.
In the same way, when facing a faith project, ask yourself: What do I already have that can serve as a starting point?
2. What do you need to learn?
Joshua 2:1 says, “And Joshua the son of Nun sent out of Shittim two men to spy secretly, saying, ‘Go view the land, even Jericho.’”
Before Joshua led Israel into battle at Jericho, he first gathered information by sending spies. He needed to understand the land and the enemy before moving forward.
Ask yourself: What information or knowledge do I need to gain to move ahead with this project?
To wrap up today’s devotional, a faith project is pursuing something you currently lack the resources for. The first step is to identify what you already have—your starting point. The second is to seek the knowledge you need to move forward. With faith, preparation, and what’s already in your hand, you’re ready to begin. Say the prayer below to embed these ideas into your heart.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for the vision You’ve placed in my heart. Help me see the value in what I already have and give me the wisdom to learn what I need to know. I trust that You will guide me each step of the way as I walk by faith and not by sight. I believe this faith project will prosper through Your power working in me. In Jesus’ name, amen.

About this Plan

A faith project is when God instructs us to pursue something we currently don’t have the resources to achieve—for example, buying equipment, leasing office space, or hosting a global conference without having the necessary funds. God often gives believers with entrepreneurial callings projects like these. In this devotional, learn a Bible-based approach to thinking through and achieving the faith project God has called you to undertake.
