Unexpected Jesus

DAY 10 OF 15

Intentional Encouragement – Today is about reaching out personally to someone who may feel isolated or alone. Part of our own loneliness is feeling disconnected. What if we fought loneliness through acts of kindness to others. Not only will we be helping others who feel lonely, but we will create ways for our own lives to be connected. Choose one or all the options below:

  1. Write a heartfelt note or text – Tell someone they are seen, loved, and not alone. Include a Scripture from your study.
  2. Make a surprise phone call – Check in on a friend, family member, or church member who might be feeling lonely.
  3. Invite someone for coffee or a meal – Face-to-face time can be deeply meaningful.
  4. Pray with someone in person – If someone shares their loneliness or struggles, don’t just say, “I’ll pray for you”—pray with them right then and there.
  5. Visit someone who is homebound or in a nursing home – Loneliness is often deep for the elderly or those who can’t get out much.
  6. Start a “you are not alone” challenge – Reach out to one new person each day for a week with a word of encouragement.

About this Plan

Unexpected Jesus

Jesus didn’t show up the way people expected. He touched outcasts, embraced the lonely, and led with kindness instead of power. In this 3-week (5-day week) journey, discover the surprising ways Jesus meets us in our struggles—and how His love can transform the parts of us we hide. If you've ever felt unseen or uncertain about your place in faith, this is for you.
