Prayer Initiative: Closer to Jesus Sample

Six days before the Passover, Jesus came to Bethany to Lazarus' house, and a dinner was given in His honor. Martha cooked and served a festive meal while Lazarus was among those reclining at the table with him. But Mary surprised them all. She took pure nard that was worth a year's wages and poured it all to the last drop on the feet of Jesus. Then she wiped His feet with her hair. The house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume.
How did Mary ever come up with such an idea? What thoughts and feelings was she carrying in her heart? Was she intuitively sensing the aggressiveness of the Jewish Leaders who plotted to take Jesus’ life on the very day He raised Lazarus from the dead? One thing is clear, this outpouring of love and worship unknowingly to her became the anointing of Jesus' body for the day of His burial. A dinner of honor indeed.
The next day, Jesus’s recognition continued. A great crowd took palm branches and went out to meet Him. They were shouting: “Hosanna! Blessed is the King of Israel!” Jesus found a young donkey and sat on it, as it is written:
“Do not be afraid, Daughter of Zion; see, your king is coming, seated on a donkey’s colt.”
At first, his disciples did not understand all this. Only after Jesus was glorified did they realize that these things had been written about Him and had been done to Him. Only after.
How is the Holy Spirit stirring you to honor Jesus? What expensive perfume are you ready to pour out on His feet? Ask Jesus: ”What do You have in Your Word for me today?” Listen and pray.
INTERCESSION: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment.” (Matthew 22:37)
