Our time is a gift
Time. Some days there is far too much time, and other days there is not enough of it. Days go by, the months and suddenly years have evaporated. Now I might have had the time of my life, but I am reminded that I am on the clock.
Pink Floyd sang the track Time (writers: Waters, Gilmour, Wright, Mason, 1973) from Dark Side of the Moon:
‘Tired of lying in the sunshine, staying home to watch the rain
You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun.’
Reading lyrics like this is confronting (they are meant to be).
Take Heart. God is with us always in all times and all situations. The teacher from Ecclesiastes reminds us that God has made everything beautiful in its time, and for our time, it is a gift from God. We don’t want to miss that gift.
Be alert to Him and what He wants us to be and do for Him. Our lives are fulfilled because they are found in God.

Time is precious – you can’t get it back, and it seems to be moving so fast! As you pray and believe in God for a breakthrough in your life, remember that God’s timing is not our timing; everything will come to pass in your life exactly when it should, and if we slow down and work on God’s schedule, He will use that time to shape and teach us.
