Practical Ways to Love God & Others: Devotions for Girls (I Am Available)Sample

When people are difficult, sometimes we have to look a little harder to see Jesus in them. Some people are probably coming to your mind right now. It helps to remember that these people need the love of Jesus, also.
Matthew 5:14-16 also tells us that we are being lights in this dark world when we love others. The verse says to let your light shine so they will see your good deeds and glorify God. People will come to know the Lord just by seeing your light shine and the Lord working through you!
Reflection:
What is a time you did not let your light shine, and how did that affect the person or situation?
What is a time you did let your light shine, and how did that affect the person or situation?
Prayer:
Lord, thank You that I am Available. When it's difficult to love others, help me to still shine Your light. In Jesus' name, amen.
Action:
Take a flashlight into a dark room, but don't turn it on. Try to walk around ... it will be a lot harder to walk in the dark. Then turn the flashlight on and walk around. You can actually find your way when you let your light shine! When we let our lights for Jesus shine, He lights the way for us and other people will see His light too!
