Grace to Start OverSample

Caught Red-Handed
Have you ever made a decision that felt right at the time—maybe even necessary—only to be left with a weight of regret that’s hard to shake? Maybe it followed you for years, whispering shame and reminding you of your failure. I once heard, “Satan offers the bait but hides the hook.” He makes sin look satisfying, but he never shows the heartbreak that follows.
The woman in John 8 knew that kind of shame. Caught in the act. Dragged into public view. Maybe she was just looking for love, for connection, for something to make her feel seen. But instead, she was exposed, surrounded by judgment, and left waiting for a verdict. She expected stones. She expected condemnation.
But instead, she found Jesus.
She found grace.
Sister, Satan wants you to stay stuck in the shame and pain of your past. He wants you to believe that what you did, or what was done to you, has the final word. But I want you to know this: Grace is standing in front of you today. Jesus sees you, not just your mistakes, but your heart. And He’s offering you a new beginning. A way out. A chance to breathe again.
You’re not too far gone. You’re just one moment away from mercy.
Prayer:
Jesus, I’ve carried shame far too long. I’ve believed the lies that say I’m unworthy of a fresh start. But today, I choose to believe You. I lay my regrets at Your feet and receive the grace You freely give. Help me to walk in freedom and not look back. Thank You for meeting me with mercy, not condemnation. Amen.
Reflection Question:
What is one area of your life where you’ve been carrying shame? What would it look like to let Jesus meet you there with grace instead of guilt?
