Heart for the House Sample

In Luke 9, Jesus calls us to more than a comfortable faith — He invites us into a life of surrender. To take up our cross daily is to lay down our own desires, pride, and expectations in order to follow Him fully. We all have ideas about how our lives should unfold, but God’s plans, though often different, are always better. When we walk in His purpose, He faithfully provides everything we need. Just moments after this call to surrender, we see Jesus feed the 5,000 — a powerful reminder that His provision follows our obedience.
Taking up your cross isn’t a one-time choice; it’s a daily commitment. It means continually surrendering our lives back to God and asking, “Lord, what do You want to do with this one precious life You’ve given me?”
Following God’s will may not always be easy or comfortable, but His blessing and presence are always with us in it.
Prayer:
Lord, help me to deny myself and follow You wholeheartedly. Teach me to trust that in losing my life for Your sake, I will truly find it. Amen.

About this Plan

David was able to set the stage for Solomon to build the temple by providing the victories for Solomon to have peace in the land, provision, and a launch pad for the new season to come. There are lessons in this for us today! For our future generations to see victory, it will take us fighting the battles now, and generously supporting God's plans to come! Join us through 2 Samuel and 1 Chronicles and be inspired by how you can be setting the next generation up for victory.
