The Riches of Forgiveness: Devotions for Girls (I Am Available)Sample

If we have a cup that looks shiny and clean on the outside, but is filthy on the inside, we wouldn't use it. In the same way, if we look nice on the outside but have sin in our hearts and haven't asked for forgiveness from the Lord, it will be much harder to love Him and others.
In Matthew 23:26 (NIV), Jesus said to "first clean the inside of the cup and dish, and then the outside also will be clean." It's important to ask the Lord to forgive us. When we try to love others, if our hearts are not filled with Jesus and His forgiveness, it will be a lot harder to. If we are filled with God's love and forgiveness, love will overflow from our hearts.
Reflection:
What is something you need to ask for forgiveness for from the Lord or someone else?
Prayer:
Lord, thank You that I am available. Please cleanse my heart and forgive me so I can love You and others better. In Jesus' name, amen.
Action:
If you need to ask the Lord or someone else for forgiveness, do that today.

About this Plan

These devotions will help girls understand the importance of forgiving and being forgiven. Through this five-day plan, girls will also have a greater understanding of how forgiveness helps you be available to God's kingdom work. These devotions are based on the "I am Available" chapter from "I am Yours: Prayers For God's Girl" by Wynter Pitts. Each devotion has a short teaching, reflection question(s), prayer, and action step. On their own or with a parent, girls can enjoy connecting with the Lord and growing in their faith a day at a time!
