Behold, The New Has Come

The gospel sets us free from bondage to the sin and shame of the past. But Jesus’ transformative power in our lives is about more than leaving behind the past. It’s also about stepping into new life. Being a new creation means living a Spirit-empowered life that reflects the image of God in righteousness and holiness.

It’s also not something we can ever achieve in our own strength: we need to rely completely on the empowering Holy Spirit to work in and through us. Paul encourages us with the truth that the same Spirit of God who raised Jesus from the dead lives in us, and this empowering, enabling Holy Spirit allows us to live a new life. Walking by the Spirit means surrendering to His daily leading and allowing Him to guide our thoughts, decisions, and actions.
