Pathways to PurposeSample

There are moments in life when hope feels impossible. Maybe you’ve prayed for a breakthrough that hasn’t come, faced disappointment that shook your faith, or woken up feeling like nothing will ever change. I’ve been there too—those seasons when it feels like God is distant, and the weight of life is just too much.
That’s what makes this passage in Lamentations so powerful. The prophet Jeremiah was surrounded by devastation, grief, and loss. He could have given in to despair. But instead, he made a decision: “Yet I still dare to hope.” Hope wasn’t based on what he saw around him, but on what he knew about God—His love never ends, His mercies never cease, and His faithfulness is unshakable.
Maybe you’re in a season where hope feels like a risk. Choosing to believe that things will get better or that God is still working can feel scary, especially if you’ve been disappointed before. But hope isn’t about ignoring reality—it’s about holding on to the truth that God’s mercies are new every morning.
When you feel discouraged, take a moment to remind yourself of a time God came through for you. Start each day by thanking Him for His new mercies, even if you don’t feel them yet. Speak hope over your situation, even when doubt creeps in.
Daring to hope means trusting that God’s faithfulness hasn’t run out—even when you don’t see it yet.
Prayer:
Father, sometimes hope feels risky, and I don’t always see Your mercy in the middle of my struggles. But today, I choose to trust that Your love has not run out and that Your faithfulness is still at work in my life. Help me to hold on to hope, even when it’s hard. Thank You that Your mercies are new every morning. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
