Reading the Bible can feel intimidating sometimes. But one simple way of studying Scripture is called S.O.A.P. It stands for "Scripture," "Observation," "Application," and "Prayer." We'll show you how—it's easy!
S: Scripture
If you haven't already, read today's passage of Scripture. Then summarize it in your own words.
O: Observation
Read Philippians 2:5–11 again.
- What stands out to you?
- What does it teach us about what Jesus thought mattered most?
- What questions do you have?
A: Application
What could humility look like in your life?
Jesus understood that for us to get the most out of life, we have to empty ourselves of things that don't matter. What's something you could give up in order to pursue more of the goodness that Jesus provides?
Who's someone you can put first this week?
P: Prayer
Spend some time in prayer talking to God about what humility could look like for you. Ask that you would have eyes to see those around you that you can put first. Then thank God for the truth that in giving up what doesn't matter, Jesus helps us receive a fullness of life beyond our expectations.

About this Plan

The Easter story is something we celebrate every year, but when was the last time you really thought about what it means for you today? Before Easter morning, there was darkness, grief, and emptiness as Jesus’ followers watched him die. But then, Jesus came back to life, and everything changed for good! For the next 14 days, we’ll discover the resurrection didn't end on Easter Sunday—Jesus is still bringing us more life every day. We'll see that Jesus' death, life, and resurrection weren't the end of the story—it was just the beginning.
